What's the blog about?
This blog is a place for me to share things that have encouraged, stirred, interested, challenged and amazed me, in the hope it does the same to you.
I plan to share thoughts on Scripture but also other things. As well as a Christian, I'm a husband, father, a maths teacher at a secondary school, and a reader as often as time allows. I've learned a lot from these aspects of my life, and they will probably feed into the content of the posts.
The idea for this blog came one day when I was reading through Hebrews, I read that God said "[He] will be merciful toward their iniquities, and [He] will remember their sins no more" (Hebrews 8:12). I was grabbed by the thought that through Jesus God has chosen to forget all my wrong, and wanted to share it somehow. So that's this blog.
Ultimately, the aim is to inspire you to devotion to Christ. It's not an overstatement to say that everything finds meaning in Him. Jesus says all of Scripture is about Him (John 5:39), and Bible says the everything that exists was made through Him and for Him (Colossians 1:16). So I want to apply the filter of Christ to all of life,"and take every thought captive to obey christ".
